Presentation

Yaki Udon is a classic Japanese stir-fried noodle dish, quick to prepare and full of flavour. This version combines tender chicken, scrambled egg, and sweet peas for a balanced and satisfying meal. The savoury umami sauce ties everything together, making it a perfect dish for a quick lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 200g udon noodles (pre-cooked or fresh)
  • 150g chicken breast (sliced)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
  • Preparation

  • Cook the udon noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • Heat the sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chicken slices and cook until golden and fully cooked.
  • Push the chicken to one side of the pan and crack the egg into the empty space. Scramble it lightly, then mix with the chicken.
  • Add the peas and noodles to the pan, then pour in the soy sauce. Stir-fry everything for 2-3 minutes until well combined.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Yaki Udon!
