This classic Lasagna Bolognese features layers of rich meat sauce, creamy béchamel, and tender pasta. A comforting and indulgent dish, perfect for family meals or special occasions. It’s simple to make but full of flavour.

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna sheets
  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 400g tomato sauce
  • 250ml béchamel sauce (white sauce)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 100g grated parmesan cheese
  • Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, sautéing until softened.
  • Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Stir in the tomato sauce and simmer for 15–20 minutes to thicken.
  • In a baking dish, layer lasagna sheets, Bolognese sauce, and béchamel sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of béchamel on top.
  • Sprinkle grated parmesan on top and bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden and bubbling. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
